Fairfield student stabbed

19/11/2008 4:00:00 AM
STUDENTS at Fairvale High School were offered counselling on Monday following a stabbing in the school grounds last Friday.

A 16-year-old boy from Bonnyrigg has been charged following the alleged incident which resulted in a fellow student suffering stab wounds to the head and back.

Principal Kathleen Seto said parents were informed via a letter sent home.

``It was an isolated incident between two students,'' Ms Seto said.

``Counselling was offered but I don't think many students have taken advantage of it.''

Police were called to the school on Friday about 11.30am when a knife and a metal pole were allegedly produced during a fight between the students.

The stabbed youth was taken to Liverpool Hospital and is in a stable condition.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
