Lawn bowlers Mathew Pietersen and veteran Peter Foster will make their debuts for NSW at next month's NSW Keno Hi-Jackers Test match against Queensland.
The St Johns Park Bowling Club pair will join fellow clubmate and former world singles champion Steve Glasson in the NSW team to play Queensland at The Entrance Bowling Club, August 11-13.
Pietersen, 19, and Foster, 36, together with Glasson, give the state team a strong St Johns' representation.
Foster said he was surprised to learn of his inclusion in the team at age 36.
''I am surprised but very pleased to be selected in the NSW team,'' Foster said.
''I have played for the NSW reserves team for the past three years and I thought that I may have missed my chance for the state side.''
The school teacher hopes to hand out a lawn bowls lesson to Queensland which has dominated matches between the two states in recent years.
Pietersen, Foster and Glasson are integral members of the St Johns Park Saints Premier League side.
Pietersen has played for the NSW under 25s team in recent years and will make his debut for the state open team in the Central Coast three-day event.
The youngster burst onto the lawn bowls scene in 2005 when at age 16 he won the NSW State Singles Title.
