IN JUST nine days Dani Samuels will walk into Beijing's National Stadium and begin her Olympic campaign.
Samuels, 20, made her last appearance at her former high school, Westfields Sports, late last month before jetting off to Hong Kong last Friday for a two-week training camp.
She was given an official send off by Westfield Sports High School with letters of support from year 7 students and a ``gold bouquet''.
``All I can say is that I know I've done the hard work,'' Samuels said.
``My coach has always told me to seek out the best in the world and take them on and I'm going there to enjoy the whole experience.''
Samuels will compete in the women's discus qualifier on August 15 with the hope of making it to the final three days later.
She said her main competition was Germany's Franka Dietzsch, who is the discus world champion, but Dietzsch pulled out of competition citing poor form.
Samuels said she wasn't worried about pollution affecting her performance.
``It's different with the pollution but I have competed there twice and it hasn't really affected me,'' she said.
