THINGS just keep getting better for Westfields Sports High School's Daniel Galadi.

After his side beat NSW Combined Catholic Colleges 18-12 in the Australian Secondary School Rugby League Championships, Daniel was named player of the match.

His dynamic season saw him chosen as part of the Australian Schoolboys team to contest an international series against England and France.

The laconic hooker described the upcoming games as ``exciting'' and said he thought the match against England would be the harder of the two countries.

``Just because you don't really hear much about France,'' Daniel said.

The Australian team will meet England in Townsville on August 2 before playing England Academy in Brisbane on August 9.

They'll face the French juniors on August 13 in Brisbane.

Daniel's currently part of the Parramatta Eels under 20s side and the year 12 student said he'd be concentrating on football once leaving school.

Smithfield teenager Jacob Gagan also put in a masterful effort for the NSW Combined High School under-15 side, which was narrowly beaten by the Queensland team in the finals.

16/12/2008 | So we now have desperate parents attempting to bribe teachers to get their children into a selective high school. What a sad indictment of our education policies, the holy grail of which is parental choice.
