United to meet Manly in knockout semi

6/08/2008 11:53:00 AM
SYDNEY United has scraped through to this year's Premier League finals series after a draw against Sydney Olympic last Sunday.

The goal-less result at Belmore Sports Ground was enough to secure the finals berth, even though APIA Leichhardt had also finished the season on 34 points.

The men from Edensor Park managed to hold on to fifth position with a differential of eight, compared with APIA's differential of six.

This has set up for an enthralling battle on Sunday, August 17, when Sydney United will travel north to take on the fourth placed Manly United in an elimination final at 3pm.
